Description
Unlike centrifugal fans, lateral channel blowers draw more current when the restriction in the system rises. Over time, the system pressure or vacuum can rise above the design pressure/vacuum due to several reasons, for example, clogged filters, clogged holes in aeration pipes, system valves closed to create too much restriction, etc. This may exceed the design power of the electric motor and cause it to overload resulting in burn out. For this reason, it is advisable to install a pressure or vacuum relief valve in the system. This is essential in systems where valves are opening and closing frequently, such as vacuum lifting systems. This range is suitable in non-explosive environments, and for handling air or non-explosive, non-hazardous, and non-flammable gases in the temperature range -15 –160°C.
